The only unique role they have is horde stuns with Smite, everything else is done better by a different class, and all of your abilities have an annoying windup that feels terrible in a game as fast paced as darktide.

Aside from stuns, everything a psyker can do another class does better, and they can actually take a hit and don't have to play the minigame of peril management.

If you try to make a sword and sorcery movie and include pants you need to defeat the ghost of Frank Frazetta in a (pantsless) honor duel first.
