Getting out into the yard today to water some flowers turned out to be harder than I wanted it to be so we're going to share some more yard time with Bob memories.

Felt like it would be good to do another nap spot tribute.

I always felt some kind of joy boost when Bob picked one of *my* spots for a nap when I wasn't in it.

Not sure where that comes from, really...feeling like I made a safe and comfortable home--or close enough. Bob was easy.

Posted everything so far from one of Bob's favorite nap spots. It's one of my places I can feel close to him.

Need a break to do some life stuff and charge the phone, back with more soon.

Thankful to any who are here witnessing my life with Bob as I revisit it. 🤍

Story time: we have a chipmunk that lives somewhere near the front step and is often running in front of our sunroom over to the oak tree to get acorns as he stores up for winter. None of this was lost on Bob.

They had a cute relationship: Bob half-chased. Chipmunk allowed it. 🐿️

More of me trying to capture moments of Bob enjoying yard time. These are getting me through, lately.

Here, Bob recently on a lazy weekend day. He'd just finished eating so his bottom lip was still damp.

I confess to force-cuddling, calling him "so cute", and even kissing his temples. He always hated that part, sometimes even groaning out loud! 🤣

He was ancient, annoyed. Tolerant.

For context and as an aside to the happy memories: I brought Bob the the vet to see if maybe his thyroid meds needed adjusting, or if there was something to lift his appetite. He was losing some hard-won weight. The chart there is how I learned his human 'age' was between 84-88.

Well, he *loved* time in the yard. Sorry, the typos will sneak in.

One of my favorite things to do was to get a bit of distance from him and then squat down and wait for him to come see what I had found.

Often some flower or long seeded grass--always though, Bob. Here, Thyme. 💜

Bob lived time in the yard! Supervised, only for short whiles. We'd go check the mail, and he'd check in on his grasses and wildflowers on the way back to the house.

We spent this summer letting the yard become overgrown so I could collect and scatter the clover seeds. He helped.

He picked out some quality napping spots on our last day together. I see many of my cozy spots were his, too.

Standing in one room, I count 6 cozy cat beds or cushions around the living area for him. My desk chair should count as 7th for all the time I wasn't in it and he was.

I should start with recent and work my way back because I still haven't honestly found the trove of kitten pictures etc. but I will, hopefully.

So many cameras, burned photo CDs, hard drives, mobiles are involved in a dig like this. I'm not a very organized person.

But I love Bob.

My soulmate is a cat named Bob. 18 years and it wasn't enough.🩶

First night without him, 4am is too quiet.

Day 1 without him begins soon. Crushed.
