The most important thing a person can do if they have a Union contract at work- obtain one, read it, know it well & if you cannot figure out or decide if your rights have been violated contact your Union Rep!

The more Unions that survive, or start up in a Right To Work State (aka RTW), the better for not reducing further contract language in what might remain in a small contract. I have seen contracts with only 3-6 pages which were caused by RTW.

I am a retired Union Organizer Representative & enjoyed reading all of your replies. I too come from a long line of family Union Leaders. There are a couple of things that were not mentioned:
Union wages lift all wages up, including non-union (which can be various and also unfortunate).
