I’m a disability attorney and guy who does writing stuff in Portland, OR. I love horror movies because they tell the truth. Opinions not endorsed by employer.
Goth Eva Green is best Eva Green.

EXORCIST 3 is best EXORCIST.

I have no actual data to support this, but I think mirror neurons fire more readily when you see emotional expressions on faces that are more simplified and abstracted than in real life.

Ha ha ha, fml X 1000.

Just googled that and the story is set in 2026?!?

My wife explained to me that people have nostalgia for that condescending piece of shit, and I’ll never understand why.

My mouth just literally watered, reading that.

I mostly enjoy it, but the pace of that show makes SEVERANCE feel like FURY ROAD.

Not gonna lie, a Google image search of “Bruce Timm drawing Big Barda” is one of my most reliable sources of dopamine on-demand.

Oh my god, it’s the kiddie pool version of high camp, maybe? My kid wanted to watch it after she saw the 1990 one. I can’t say she didn’t like part two, but I haven’t heard any requests for TMNT III.

Haven’t seen that in so long! It’s probably at least as good as TMNT 2: THE SECRET OF THE OOZE, which I watched last month.

Dude made up a whole-ass Yautja alphabet for a comic where Batman punches the Predator.

“Rocky loves Emily!”

That movie fucking whips.
November 25, 2025 at 4:28 AM
Did not know that happened in the book. That is so cool.

I remember at one point Miller talked about all his BATMAN stories existing in his own proto-Snyderverse history of the character. His SPAWN crossover was very much included. I still don’t know if that’s charming or sad.
November 23, 2025 at 5:31 PM
That’s not surprising. They can’t all be his out of left field but cool runs on WildCATS or SUPREME.

It takes the “artist showcase” concept so far that it feels like no writing happened at all, despite there being characters with names and words on most pages. Obviously, I didn’t make it to the guest issues by Alan Moore, Dave Sim (ugh), and Neil Gaiman (ugh X infinity).

I was the right age too, but I missed out. I thought my love of pop-Satanism was all encompassing, but I guess it doesn’t include Canadian baseball fans named Todd.
November 23, 2025 at 5:20 PM
I tried reading SPAWN on Hoopla after I was surprised by how fun 90’s GHOST RIDER and other MIDNIGHT SONS titles ended up being. Operative word being “tried.” I failed to complete a single issue.

100 BULLETS is amazing while it maintains the revenge-tale-of-the-week format, but that dies around issue 50, and the (to me) weaker conspiracy meta plot dominates for another 50 issues. I find the whole run uneven. It actually made me kinda glad SCALPED was only given a 50-issue run.

MOHICANS is great. I have negative associations based on my dad liking it (probably has no clue who directed it), but the fights are gnarly and the music truly thunders. Saw it in theaters at age 12, and it was an experience.

Whoa. That’s a bold statement that I respect to an inversely proportional degree with how much I don’t share it.
