The logos until 1984 were whimsical & kinda fun. I grew up with the 84 logo and that will always be my default Texas logo.
But everything since 94 has been boring & stodgy. It’s just a blah look, like Texas realized they needed a logo at 2 am the night before it was due to the league.

And some people blame Baines. Like what’s he supposed to do? Turn down the honor? “Sorry guys, metssux69 says he’ll never go to the Hall again if I go in. We can’t lose him. And he’s right, I was average at best. You all made a big mistake.”

Have you noticed that more people say they don’t care about the HoF since Baines was elected? It seems as if that broke people’s brains.
Which I kinda get but Baines isn’t even the worst example of cronyism in Cooperstown. At the end of the day, it’s fine. Skip over his plaque if you want.

I am too. Like Tom Yawkey can GTFO of Cooperstown. Not sure what greatness he did to be considered a Hall of Famer—his teams constantly underachieved and he was a racist.

I’m not saying BBHoF is infallible, they’re not. But when the voting body is bigger, it tends to get things right more.
Smaller committees are where cronyism comes in. See Harold Baines* and all of Frank Frisch’s pals. That’s Canton.

Yeah there is no official mandate by the BBWAA to be transparent but most are. By election time we have a pretty good idea of who voted for whom and why.
