My boss lost his hearing from mumps when he was a kid in China. My little brother gave mumps to our 80-year-old grandfather. Plus, as I recall from my own case, it really hurt.

I finished watching it last night. In the comics, I always got the impression that Simon was not a particularly good actor, that he got parts due to his appearance. This Simon is a good actor, so I like how they balanced that with his tendency to shoot himself in the foot all the time.

I live in the SF bay area. Today I saw a pickup trick flying 2 huge flags, a US flag and something else. I rolled my eyes, assuming what the other flag was, thinking he was in the wrong place. Then he turned the corner and I saw the other flag said in big letters, “Fuck Trump.”

It’s not considered worship. When we pray, invoking the saints or Mary, it is asking them to ask God for us. Yes, we can ask God directly, but this is like asking God’s best buddies to put in a good word for you.

I needed to replace my iPad Air. I replaced it with a standard iPad as the current version of iPad Air has A.I. built in. I’m not paying for something I’m opposed to.

We hired cleaners years ago becauseI was working long hours and it was too tiring for me. Now I’m retired and disabled and it’s a necessity.

I would want their definition of morality spelled out. Do they consider LGBTQ folks to be immoral? What about poly folks? I’m a squeaky clean cishet married church lady and I would be wary.

or Barnes & Noble, but they only list the paperback. I don’t want to give any money to Bezos if I can avoid it. I prefer to support independent shops. The last time, B&N and Bookshop did finally list it, but it was days after Amazon did.
