Not all Visa/MC cards are Credit Cards though. In the UK, regular bank debit cards use those systems.

Across the EU, as I recall, there's an assortment of per-country bank/debit card schemes but not a common unified one.

Still loads ok for me. Archive Today can be a bit temperamental though.

Don't forget the email thread arguing "font" vs "typeface".

This is more amusing than the inside of my brain, which has been singing "severe IBS" to the tune of "Feliz Navidad" for the last couple of days.

An alternative capture (done by screen recording) is currently up on the Internet Archive. archive.org/details/60mi...

There's a torrent link on that page, I suggest getting it that way if you can.

As far as I'm aware, best available version is archive.org/details/60mi... - if you're torrent-capable, use the torrent option on that page.

"Ow."

"Liar. Do it again like you mean it. Oh and spit that blood capsule out first."

Too much "heartache", not enough "joint ache".

I am engaged in seemingly-innocous maker shenanigans with an ulterior pervy (but not immoral) motive.

Does that count?

'D Notices', back in the day, were only ever a cosy gentleman's agreement thing.

Basically the government saying "this specific thing would cause us a bunch of grief if you published it - be good chaps and STFU, eh?"

Never had the force of law.

In the US, it depends greatly on the power being drawn by the lights and the current-rating (in amps) of the extension cord(s) in use.

I don't have any hands-on experience though, being a 240v-Brit. But I do watch @techconnectify.bsky.social and he explains well: www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_q-...

Water will still wick up and keep the tree a little moist, making it much less flammable than a dried-out tree.

A dried-out tree will be more hazardous when paired with a minor electrical oopsie with lights, compared to a watered tree.
