Putting my two cents here: making anything for people's approval -- be either original content or fanwork -- is bad ans stressful. If you really want your OCs to get seen you need to love then and be obnoxious about them, spread love and less "why nobody likes my OCs"
"How to make ACTUAL interesting OCs" "How to make OCs people will care about!" dog if you can't love your own creations that's where you need to start, don't make brand new beings for other's approval. You'll never truly love them if they're tied to a stranger's perception.
