Jeneroux was allegedly about to cross the floor before he announced he's quitting next year. Stubbs is apparently ill.

But 2 more (Scheer and Scott Reid) weren't at the initial vote and came in just after to vote no when it was clear they could do so safely.

I choose the NDP not shitting the bed again. Ideally they reduce the Liberals to a smaller minority and gain some real influence again.

Indeed, we have more than enough evidence that harsher penalties aren't a deterrent, and that there are root causes (a phrase Harper famously shat on) to crime that require more meaningful and systemic policy solutions. But all we get from right-wing commentators is lazy penal populism. 3/3

Governments have never addressed the reality that “the majority of individuals in B.C. who died from drug poisonings did not have a diagnosed opioid use disorder or use opioids on a daily basis.”

governments created ministries of mental health and addiction to deny this fact.
