Trump’s pitch is pretty similar to the pitch of Denver’s Dem Mayor, who says that worker wages and retail crime are why downtown isn’t bouncing back. All these out of touch politicians who peddle these down-punching narratives exonerate the business on business predation of commercial real estate.
Now, he plans to use that momentum to propel the rest of his agenda. In the New Year, his administration is considering proposing changes to the city’s local minimum wage laws for tipped workers as restaurant owners struggle with economic difficulties. City officials will also begin an enforcement crackdown on “quality of life” crimes often committed by drug users and people suffering from mental illnesses, including the possibility of mandating treatment.

I feel this in my bones more and more every day.
If we’re honest with ourselves, the model of social movements has been to just throw young people at these crises and not have a plan to take care of them mentally or physically or financially, and to just always assume that there’s another generation of people who are going to spend five years doing it, and as long as there’s enough of us who put in the 20 years to kind of be in leadership positions, we’ll be fine. When that strategy hit a mass disabling event, we realized that there isn’t a bench anymore, and the care network that we all required to reproduce our lives fell apart.

That's antisemitism. And a lot of the slogans that peopl use either are or slide into antisemitism. The one that bothers me the most is genocide. Genocide is described as a country or some group tries to wipe out a whole race of people, a whole nationality of people. So if Israel was not provoked and just invaded Gaza and shot at random Palestinians, Gazans, that would be genocide. That's not what happened. In fact, the opposite happened. And Hamas is much closer to genocidal than Israel. And I told Netanyahu, I said to him what I thought: You gotta reduce the number of casualties and make sure aid gets in and stuff like that.
