Kind of apropos of nothing but "male pop star," one of my Anacortes City Council members is TJ Fantini from the same Mickey Mouse Club class that produced Britney, Xtina, JT and Ryan Gosling. He tried to make an honest go as a solo act, but sadly the world could only accommodate one JT at the time.

I cannot recommend more highly reading MLK Jr's Letter from Birmingham Jail. We hear about it all the time, but if you haven't read it, it hits HARD. And it touches on this very subject significantly.

I followed up the next day, saying I was upset they got loudly angry at me about it, invalidating my discomfort and telling me I was in the wrong for calling it out. So this bff of 6 years then blocked me on socials and that was the last I've heard from them.
