i grew up in a state where if i was fired and evicted for being queer, i would have literally no recourse. and that affected my FAMILY disclosing their identities to me!

this is a really fun thing i see a lot of, especially in places like "the comments on ask a manager" in which people get so, so caught up in fantasies of representation that they are not able to conceptualize that disclosure is not always safe, and is frequently unsafe.
