Hamako's full name, Hamako Mishizu was something I chose for the fact I wanted to make a Water Samurai instead of say, Fire, Lightning, or Ice Samurais as they have been done many times over and Water happened to be something I wanted to do.
Plus the introduction to Dan Heng did something as well-

Percival and knights seem to go hand and hand given how I chose Percival's name as part of the knights of the round and Artorias the Abysswalker. I just wanted to use the names of two knights I enjoy the most.

So Ninja Gaiden 4 is pretty hype, and while I vibe with Yakumo, I am excited to get to play as Ryu.
