yeah, I got some info and the event creator is a close friend with the person I tried to make a pun with, so I'm more inclined to think that it's a case of a more closed group of people...

I'm still early in the process of knowing the group, so I can't judge yet, but I get that not every gay will like me or be my friend...

And yeah, I'm good with the friends I already have too, but for me it would be just nice to be part of a larger community (specially in presence)...

Funny that I had similar situation hapen twice in different old workplaces, where some peers 'gated' me socially...
I don't know if it's a natural occurence or if I come accross as 'not someone who I would want to engage with'... haha
