We now know a lot about what excellent ICSs look like. And it's not difficult, using information that's been in the public domain for yonks, to identify and compare stronger with weaker ICSs. So there's little need to pause on that front, nor any known reason for most HEIs to change course. 3/7

This is our reading too. It would not be sensible to pause work on #impact case studies for the #REF2029 now, particularly as there seems to be no plan to extend the final deadline.
Outputs & Impact Case Studies (ICSs) look to be areas with most continuity with the past REFs, if you remove portability and 'diversity of outputs' from the picture. So it seems sensible to focus on them.

So, other than taking any consultations we're invited into seriously, maybe 'pause' is a good time to step back and focus on what's actually of value.
