FluidNC Firmware (Founder), CNC 3D Printing, Skier, Hiker, Dog Lover
A cool pen plotter by one of our FluidNC firmware users.

I used to give my CNC controllers descriptive names, like 4x TMC2209 ESP32, but customers got confused when similar versions came out.

Now all new controllers are named after dog breeds. I started with the letter A and move up.

Meet the Airedale, Boxer, Corgi and Doberman.

I am going to NERP (Not Exclusively Raspberry Pi) at the Chicago hackerspace, Pumping Station One, tonight. I'll be bringing my some of my latest projects to show off.

Yea! My first batch of Airedale boards are in. Lots of extra I/O for FluidNC!

Testing my new #FluidNC I/O Expander. It adds (8) inputs, (8) 5v outputs and (2) MOSFETs. All outputs can do PWM.

It also supports all of our pendants.

I made a clip that covers the volume controls on a phone. People at the assisted living place were accidentally turning off the volume and missing calls.

FluidNC CNC firmware is testing a new feature to support (hopefully) all RS485 Modbus Spindles. It uses templates to map functions to commands (hex values) and decodes the responses.

I setup a plasma torch height control simulator to test FluidNC firmware.

CNC routers can be used as a pen plotter by putting a pen in the spindle, but don't accidentally turn on the spindle.

Here is the CYD (Cheap Yellow Display) CNC pendant next to the FluidDial (M5 Dial) pendant. The CYD can be built for less than $35. Both run the same firmware. #FluidNC

I was excited to see that BigTreeTech chose to go with #FluidNC firmware on their first CNC focused controller. This is the Rodent. It was collaboration with RatRig.

Here is a view of the CAD model for the Roller Plotter. It is quite small and super portable.

I added a Tools menu to my FluidDial CNC Pendant. This gives access to ATC features.

This is one of my #FluidNC test fixtures. The CAM activated limit switches can be ignored to allow unlimited range when testing. It does not take much desk space and is very portable.

A very nice enclosure with a 6x (6 axis CNC Controller) for #FluidNC. I love the wire track covers. Very Clean!

An interesting 3axis probing sequence. It moves along to find the next edge before probing it. Written entirely in gcode for #fluidNC

Hole center finding using only gcode. #FluidNC
