Now that I think about it, I think he’d get a broad based tax cut across the board and that would actually probably help him avoid the worst of it.

I suspect that it’s because in last rounds new sanctions led to a lot of order cancellations or price renegotiations. I’m not sure if you’d consider that paying a tariff but it’s consistent with the deflationary for everyone framing.

In that sense they see politics as a kind of business where the goal is to just win elections and no one else who isn’t a specific kind of elite political agent sees it that way. People do want vision from their leaders.
