An early evening snooze on mum’s lap - the tail is Gizmo’s do not disturb mode setting and if you zoom in you’ll see he has one eye on me ready to take action if I breach the do not disturb zone 😹😹🦁🦁 #teamfloof #CatsOfBluesky
Gizmo the orange Maine Coon cat is neatly curled up on his mum’s lap catching up on some sleep as he’s only had 12 naps so far today 😹😹 all we see of mum are a few fingers holding onto a book - she’s wearing a black hooded top so is pretty much hidden from view by that! His orange coat looks soft and warm in the evening glow and his big fluffy tail is hiding most of his face where a partially open right eye looks out at Dadmin to make sure he doesn’t disturb the nap or he’ll pay the consequences!

A throwback picture to February 2016 and it’s the very first night in their new home for Buddy and Gizmo the orange Maine Coon cats - who were 3 month old kittens back then! Gizmo is in the foreground of the picture with Buddy above him. The famous snow dipped paws of Gizmo are on show and Buddy is already taking on his fully floofy form. They’re both about the size of a small but fully grown regular cats and at this stage have blue eyes rather than the green (Gizmo) and orange (Buddy) they grew up to have. They’re lying on a warm beige carpet which was pretty much destroyed within a year and replaced with the wooden flooring!

Gizmo hasn’t gone near the top plinth of the tree since we lost Buddy. He was never up for sharing his favourite spot 🥊🥊😹😹

It’s about 6ft off the ground so makes for a nice vantage to point to watch mum and dad in one part of the living room or look out the back windows and doors behind to watch wildlife in the garden! Today Gizmo has a side look to the right so he’s looking at neither…typical cat doing his own thing! His long white chest coat flows halfway down his chest before blending with more orange floof which hides his front legs! 3 snow dipped paws are also visible as our furry lion emperor surveys his domain 😹😹

Gizmo the orange Maine Coon cat is leaping up towards the camera but worry not, he’s attacking a piece of string being dangled overhead! Gizmo had been in a cardboard box on the grey/silver/white rug but as soon as the string appeared he exploded into action and propelled himself into the air to catch it. His massive snow dipped front paws are caught in mid-grab and his mouth is wide open as he makes his move! He’s a hunter in flight ready to take his prey down so let’s be thankful it’s the string and not us! 😹😹

A big day for our beautiful boy Gizmo who is 10 today! It’s his first without dear Buddy who we miss so much and so today we celebrate the joy and love they have brought us from the minute we met them.

Buddy and Gizmo the orange Maine Coon cats as kittens sitting at the open door in the carrier which brought them home! They’re about 8-9 weeks old here and already much larger than most cats at that young age. In fact they may be bigger than some adult cats! Even here you can tell who is who by markings, floof and ear size…Gizmo is sitting upright on the left and Buddy is lying down behind him. The familiar white chest coats and snow dipped paws of both are already on display! Long time fans of Buddy and Gizmo the orange Maine Coon cats know this classic well! They are about 14 weeks old here and enjoying life in their forever home. They’re lying down together on a pine wood floor leaning against the bottom step of the house stairs. Both cats are looking right off camera. Gizmo is on the left and Buddy is on the right. Gizmo’s ears are already pointing for the sky with their orange tips and Buddy’s have the same tips but are set wider than his brother’s. Their coats are floofing up nicely! Another classic of the boys posing on their cream coloured cat tree. Buddy is on a plinth above Gizmo but set to the right of his brother’s head. Both are looking towards the camera - Gizmo has greener eyes than Buddy who has more golden coloured eyes. Their gorgeous orange floof is lit beautifully by the sunlight, giving them an almost angelic glow. Both boys look like proud handsome lions. It’s the birthday boy Gizmo on his 10th birthday! He’s sitting on top of his cream cat tree looking towards the camera with the back garden visible. His white chest coat sweeps down his front and his warm orange fur looks soft and luscious.

We also get a really good look at his large ears which are lined with light coloured fur and topped by amazing flamed orange tips. This close we can see the individual hairs! Gizmo’s orange fur has a soft glow in this light and again as we’re so close you can make out tiny details in the fur - even the direction it takes across his head!

His orange coat has a warm glow and the dark tabby stripes which run vertically between his ears to the top of his eyes on his forehead are standing out - they almost form the letter M which is a handy identifier for Maine Coon! Gizmo’s pointy ears are standing to attention as always with their orange tips looking almost like flames as they flicker off the top.
