Indiana born, Indianapolis bred. El pueblo unido jamás será vencido
knowing Trump he'd reboot Dredd but make Karl Urban inexplicably use his Billy Butcher voice the whole time

Indy resident here

For soul food: Highly recommend Mississippi Belle and His Place

For pizza: You can't go wrong with Futuro. it's good as hell. top 3 best slices i've ever had

For diner food/Americana: Steer In, Workingman's Friend, and John's Famous Stew are great, esp if you want a tenderloin

I love how they consistently frame indisputable facts as "points"

wrapping your mouth around your car's tailpipe/huffing the exhaust will cause carbon monoxide poisoning? that's a point.

chugging drain cleaner will make your stomach look like a wiffle ball? buddy, you better believe that's a point

my brother bought a Chevy Volt a couple years ago using the IRA EV tax credit and it whips. kinda wish i'd gotten in on that while it was still around

my Uncle Jerry is also part of it, they picked him up from a bar in the Indianapolis exurbs where he was five Miller High Lifes deep. he brings a wealth of foreign policy knowledge and much-needed good vibes

what was the margin on DSA's endorsement of Zohran? can't seem to find it anywhere

she's definitely charismatic and her online presence lends itself to popularity outside the district she's running in. i doubt the latter will make a difference in the outcome but always nice to have the former in a candidate

yeah that's a good comparison. addictionwashing instead of greenwashing. idk probably a better term
November 22, 2025 at 7:06 PM
very cool and very legal

yeah fed tax withholding is a sticky wicket but if Sherrill and her admin can actually convince NJ employers to get onboard (which, afaik, would be a prereq for any sort of withholding plan), for me, that puts her in 2028 contender territory
November 22, 2025 at 2:45 PM
a thousand apologies, gov-elect Sherrill, i was unfamiliar with your game

the Aldi near me had whole frozen chickens on sale for $8, we just said fuck it and bought one to make instead of turkey

this is one of those vanishingly rare occasions in Trump II where one can take comfort knowing that the worst people in this country are having a bad time *and* where its byproducts don't involve vulnerable people/groups being hurt

Gracie is entering her fat cat era, her pooch is growing every day and she is thriving
November 21, 2025 at 4:11 PM
apparently it's a closed press meeting so unsure whether that bodes well for Zohran
November 21, 2025 at 3:51 PM
I wonder if David Brooks is considered important enough to have his own fart huffing machine or if the other NYT staff get mad at him for hogging the office-wide machine

Brandon Johnson is failing as mayor. Just ask these Jiffy Lube workers in Crown Point, Indiana
