The lol TLD connotes cheap, not funny
Could be nothing ... but boarding up the place mid-month before a big weekend for gigs is setting off my "story I'll read about next week in @londoncentric.media" alarm.

Yep. Looks like a repossession. My impression is they became a pre/post gig pub and could never really figure out what to do with upstairs. Hard to imagine anyone else taking it on now.

The Averages Machine finds averages. That's what it does. Every time you use it, or share its output, the world has a tiny bit more variety squeezed out.

Good lord, of course! My DJ party trick* was to cut a relevant track below his "just a band" sequence, such as 16 minutes into this: www.mixcloud.com/BryceElder/o...

* "Party" in the broadest sense
One hour mix, 2007
Old! Old old old old old. Sixty-something tracks inside an hour, though, so that's something. But very old. O-l-d. (Archived here having been rescued from Mix.DJ.)

Weak Become Heroes, or nearly anything else from The Streets' first two albums.

Vogue. Not entirely, but in spirit.

Ed's post compares the numbers he's seen with those reported in The Information etc. My job was to ask why they were so far apart. From that, I think we were able to put a low probability on them being fake.

Other people since have come up with interesting theories (ARR, delayed recognition) etc.

For obvious reasons, I wouldn't know.

I've wanged on about this before, you'll be unsurprised to learn.

Riots happen when it's hot. All examinations of the causes of unrest must start with "it's hot". A majority can end there too.

(Chart's from this 1979 paper t.ly/1ymcb but there are plenty others.)

Golden is the most important record in decades. The kids don't lie.

Absolutely this for The Tempest, with a wooden Sigourney Weaver as Prospero. To compensate, every other character hammed and mugged like it was panto season. I guess there's a need for "big production" Shakespeare to entertain, which means lols.

People are addicted to it because it's the one and only example of a lawyer considering risk like a human rather than a lawyer.

Yes, but David's a lawyer. I'm suggesting the opportunity to tell Trump to fuck off is easily worth it.

If this country had any gumption left, the BBC would refer him to Arkell v. Pressdram.

Lol and, what is more, lmfao.
