Two principles of environment & health come to mind:
1. If you can measure it, you can manage it; and 2. You only find what you’re looking for. Are we effectively, efficiently & equitably delivering environmental health programs & the essential public health services? No www.cdc.gov/environmenta...
What a fantastic Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry meeting in Portland, where several members of our research team presented their findings. It was a week of firsts for many of the students, such as giving their first presentation, and seeing their first snow, elk & the Pacific Ocean

Yes, indeed:
“If society values clean water, then we need to understand the consequences of chemicals that we put in the natural world,” said Bryan Brooks… The bottom line, he added, is that “if we put stuff in the environment, we need to understand what happens to it.” @michaelgbertram.bsky.social
In research published yesterday, scientists monitored what anti-anxiety drugs did to salmon as they migrated from a river out to the Baltic Sea. The results are fascinating.

Everyone relies on objective science & engineering to fuel innovation and support evidence-based decisions. We all need to also embrace some common sense, because ignoring environment and health threats just does not make sense. My April editorial @pubs.acs.org @acs.org pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/...
