I will write mini-reviews of the books I read in 2025 and pin them here.

I finished Wind and Truth as my first book of 2025. I don't want to say too much because it has such a following, but I really enjoyed the middle of this book. I think there is a bit too much going on for me to love this book
Seasonal vs once a year.
To much work?

Basically all of my favorite foods are seasonal.

there’s so much good food in this world it’s basically a crime to just do the same shit all the time.
The “it’s only because it’s too much work crowd” fires off their defense of Thanksgiving as they rotate the wood on their smoker at 3 am for the third consecutive weekend.

It’s that time of year when we are given the reminder that Bryant’s food takes are dogshit and should never be trusted
It’s that time of the year people pretend the color beige is amazing food. And never do it again for 364 days.

Apple pie is bad. This is not really debatable. So is key lime pie, while we’re on the topic. Pecan pie is the 🐐 tho.

Yo. @robr0013.bsky.social this chapter on the 1880 rep nomination is one of the best chapters related to late 1800’s post civil war politics I’ve ever read.

(This sounds niche… but I’ve read an embarrassing amount of such chapters).

Guys remember when Utah need a two point conversion retuned in order to keep it within ten lol.

Also. Why didn’t they kick? I’m so confused.

Never doubted.

Despite the outcome. This is one of the most embarrassing games I’ve ever seen

The funny thing about redacted records… they won’t stay redacted forever. We all know the truth. Whether it’s 50 days or 50 years, when truth comes to be, I will for sure NOT give any family/friend the benefit of the doubt.

If both your QBs didn’t stiff arm the defense into embarrassment during the same game I don’t want to hear from you.

When you have two TD runs over 60 yards. Every play should be a run

The score alert being the yellow when it’s a flag is so damn annoying

Sometimes I lay in bed and think it’s weird that saying World War Two is technically an abbreviation of saying WW2

Oh wow epstein has emails about his best friend also being a pedo. Definitely to the part of the story that everyone in the room knows what’s going on and pretending it’s not.

This is stated perfectly
American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

Had Schumer been replaced after the spring fiasco you wonder if the result would have been different. He is not a wartime consigliere
