Yes! Pets should have identification in case of emergency, not because you want a free pass to let them roam unsupervised.

This is true! Not all shelters, rescues or sanctuaries are reputable.

ABSOLUTELY. Outdoor cats are an invasive species.

I'm not opposed to all forms of private ownership, there are certainly a rare few people who own these animals responsibly - with proper diet, enrichment, and outdoor enclosures - but the vast majority do not.

Whether you are a rehabilitator or an exotic pet owner, any time you interact with wildlife, you are assuming a monumental responsibility, the reality of the situation is that you are potentially holding their lives in your hands.

Throughout the ~5 - 6 months those animals were a part of my life, I made the conscious choice not to post a single video clip publicly, specifically because I did not want to mislead people or promote unethical interactions with wildlife.

It was, by far, the most magical and fulfilling experience of my life... and also the most stressful and exhausting. Those animals were never pets, and they were not treated as such, but they were still physically, emotionally and financially taxing!

Back in 2020, I took on the responsibility of raising a litter of orphaned Red Foxes.

I did not do this lightly, nor do I recommend it, but there were no licensed rehabilitators in my region at the time and, being that it was the peak of the pandemic, transportation off the island wasn't an option.

Most legitimate fur farm rescues are residing in sanctuaries, as very few licensed rescues are willing to adopt out captive bred wildlife to private owners (I only know of one or two).

When a private owner says they "rescued" their animal from a fur farm, 9 times out of 10, they bought it.
