Valdis has great ice cream (better than Seattle)
Seabaron/Sægreifinn has great seafood/soups
Laugardalslaug might be the world’s most incredible public pool and unlike Blue Lagoon it’s cheap and filled with local folks

I liked Berjaya Reykjavik Marina Hotel when I stayed there - pretty convenient to downtown and waterfront area

Wow! I’m so sad to hear that. i met Aoki-san way back in 2008 when Japanese craft beer was in its infancy, and Aoki was such a friendly, energetic, and enthusiastic promoter of its development
