Ban Tesla’s systems for not being safe enough. Either cameras can’t get there, and it remains banned, or cameras do get there, and we get a safe AD implementation with better unit economics than LIDAR.

Tesla F”SD” not being “safe enough” doesn’t *necessarily* mean a camera based system is incapable of meeting the desired level of safety. And there are still plenty of non-Elmo technologists who believe a camera system can work.

I think dictating technology in this case would be a mistake. There should be standards, tests, and a certification process to make sure “self driving” meets whatever degree of safety society agrees is acceptable.
