You lose out on combo's, different strengths in attacks, different speeds in projectiles and normals. To be honest though if you're not a lab rat who optimizes everything you'll be fine. Lots of people both competitively and non competitively use modern

I will admit endwalker was the best but I did love shadowbringers for going the extra miles it did, and the raid series was sick, plus nier was cool
