I tried to run an up scaling channel on YouTube a couple years back. There are these videos by Best Motoring that are all in like 240p was going to upscale and post them. The nightmares I saw where the program would just make stuff up immediately turned me off to the idea.

Depending on the car the low fuel light can come on due to how you drive. My old car simply comes on when it hits a certain physical point. Newer cars calculate distance to empty based on average mpg from the last 5-10 miles total capacity and many other factors.
