I'm walking into 2024 with several writing projects and high hopes that I will complete most of them. There is a new post on my website where I talk about my creative plans for the year:

Writing the Other is facing a big challenge: lack of sufficient scholarship funds for the last of this year's classes.

Due to Patreon shenanigans & social media chaos, the fund is almost tapped out.

Will you help us cover the remainder needed for this year by donating and/or boosting the signal?

Will you help us raise enough for our scholarship fund to cover these last few students in financial need?

An update: I learned that doing something creative in small chunks is a lot more manageable and a lot less stressful than trying to carve out an hour in my daily schedule

I’m actually looking forward to this week’s bite-sized creative sessions
School & work suck up most of my time and energy every day, which means my creative projects have been collecting dust for days and weeks at a time.

But this week I'm going to commit to 30 minutes per project each night (so an hour total) because small progress is better than nothing

I finally registered for Virginia Library Association's 2023 Annual Conference and it's starting to hit that I'll be presenting a poster in roughly one month

I haven’t written a short story since the beginning of the year. But I have two ideas that I am actually excited to explore. This has been a slow year in terms of output, so having something to work on makes me so happy

I have space in my editing calendar for new projects. I work with novellas and novels, and offer two tiers of edits. More info here: https://www.kathowardbooks.com/editing Always happy to answer questions.

Any signal boosting is very much appreciated, thanks!

It’s the start of a new month so I’m going to set a small writing goal to ease back into my different projects. For August, I’m going to commit to working on my sci-fi novel at least twice a week which feels manageable

Time to get started

Hello! Thanks to my friend @livelygold.bsky.social for the invite!

I figured I'll give another platform a try. I'm Brittany, a SF/F author based near DC. I mainly post updates about my current WIPs, library school, books I'm reading and anime I'm watching (just started One Piece today)
