Quick lil test before I go compete this weekend with zero prep or peaking. This one is just for fun. Not every meet is about pushing for PRs, some are about fun and connecting with your community. I believe that longevity in sport requires these things… #weightlifting #oly #fitnessky

In other news, I’m (still) very, very excited to be helping put on an official weightlifting meet in San Francisco. I’m also completely blown away by the support - we’re over 40% filled, and I’ll be posting a live start list soon. Feeling very grateful to my co-conspirators for their trust.

Absolutely baffled by small fitness businesses where it takes sixteen clicks to figure out *what* they sell. Is it chalk? Is it shirts? Is it smelling salts? Is it coffee? Y’all can sponsor influencers but you can’t just say what you’re making front and center on your site and bio?

I could focus on only having 3 days to lift this week, or on needing to stay at the lighter end of my working range today, or on the ridiculous faces I make, or on my upper arms jiggling… not today.
Today I’m just feeling really lucky that I GET to do this most mornings.

Considering this administrations’s push to take resources away from our national parks system, it seems pretty obvious that removing it as a tourist attraction is about closing parks.

My first #weightlifting meet was an in-house supertotal in a CF gym, and where I first got hooked on the excitement, adrenaline, and excuse for glitter and silly costumes that is competing in strength sports. Ten years later, I can honestly say that turning out for this one event changed my life.

It doesn’t matter how excited I am to go do #weightlifting in the morning. If I didn’t pack my bag AND set out my clothes the night before, I won’t be making it. Why am I like this?

This weekend I competed at USAMW National Masters Weightlifting Championship. Went 6 for 6 and got to deadlift. Fun weekend, and the least work I’ve done at a meet in years. Qualified for Worlds in Vegas too! #weightlifting #mastersathlete #fitnesssky

Kicking off a slightly silly few weeks of travel with a weekend in Boise for the first of two national #weightlifting meets in two weeks. Can someone explain why these events are scheduled like this? Serious question cause I’m gonna see a lot of the same people and this is a bit rough on coaches.
