Yeah. I kinda wonder what it's like living in the alternate universe where Mego or another bigger toy maker picks up the toy license right away. Does Star Wars merch mania take off without the initial scarcity driving anticipation? Does Star Wars persist in pop culture without the merch mania?

The other problem is that cishets have a very hard time understanding that their kid getting wild with the dressup box at preschool is not the same as being transgender and trying to keep dysphoria out of the conversation isn't helping get the difference across.

To some extent, but you're also giving people another frame to define you. Like yes if you go out in corpse paint people will stare, but if you just wear e.g. black clothing with a bit of leather or chain people will just look at you and file you under goth without questioning your look deeper.
