So far my favorite part of @armandomunoz.bsky.social BLACK CHRISTMAS novelization is explaining why their tree is covered in that cotton stuff.

Given a near holy reverence by the housemother, who was in no
other way a holy woman, the tree arrived yearly on the same calendar day, December 1st. That night brought the ceremonial tree decorating ceremony in which all the girls participated. Following the placement of lights., ornaments, and tinsel, wide swaths of stretched cotton were
draped over the branches to guard against feline redecoration. The
snow gauze didn't stop Claude from breaking the ornaments, but the barrier helped lessen the number busted and kept the tinsel in place.

OK I said "episode" when I meant *season* but look at the date. This was a six episode season and I just finished episode 6. Four years later. And we did 5 *and* 6 tonight! Which means 3 and 4 were done in 2022-2024, skipping one year entirely. And you need to remember stuff from previous episodes.

Instead of expecting other people to change, demand the change of
vourself. Hold yourself to a higher standard and stop allowing this type
of emotionally immature behavior to be your responsibility to manage.
Stop staying in situations where someone's repeated emotional
immaturity is starting to feel more like abuse. Stop feeling sorry for
people who play the victim all the time. Stop explaining away some-
one's clearly narcissistic patterns.

The more time you pour into a relationship with someone who acts
like an eight-year-old, the more you're going to feel like a parent to a
child. When you recognize that you are dealing with someone who has
a lot of internal work to do, you can draw healthier boundaries around
the amount of t time and energy you are
willing
to give to them.
