I was surprised how many of my peers are taking this entire week off. Nice surprise, but I generally work ~2 days week of Thanksgiving and then big chunk near end of calendar year.

I also welcome the reduction in meetings. Haven't written this much on internal papers in awhile.

Not available today but I see you have an opening in late Dec. If you're still hosting (i.e. not off for holiday break) I signed up to chat on career topics. Thanks.

Excited to try Moonlighter 2 and Marvel Cosmic Invasion. Didn't know the latter was planned for Game Pass, so bonus points!

I was going through old box in my home office and found the original CD-rom for 3D Pinball and many other games. Lots of nostalgia there!

Please do share. We inherited washer + dryer when moved into house, but one-time repairman told us "these are the old good ones that will last you 25+ yrs, keep 'em as long as they keep running". They are close to 30 yrs now I believe, so know they will need replace sometime.

For a minute I seriously considered if it was time to cut our losses and buy a replacement dryer as this one is 20+ yrs old. After initial cleanup and testing with some old white cleaning towels, no residual ink was bleeding onto them so decided to stick with it for now.

Ahh, I've been there (cut while putting away dishes). We ended up moving our box grater to a much less used storage place for similar reasons.

Ouch, sorry to hear that. My wife got a rotating cheese grater like this as we've all had too many run in's with the box grater type. This rotating one is so easy & safe the kids can use it.

I bought wifi enabled light switches in the basement to auto-turn off at night (or from phone app). The manufacturer is closing down support (and app access) next year. Makes me question trying to go that route. At least the physical button still works, but not happy.
