TIL that Survival Research Labs (SRL) is still around & doing their thing.
Founded in the late 70s, SRL are technicians using custom-built machinery that interacts & sometimes goes to pieces in noisy/violent live performances. Had a serious impact on my aesthetic.

The music's industrial edge masks a secret: the lead instrument is…bassoon. Through unconventional performance technique and electronic manipulation, it is distorted into unrecognizable forms against a propulsive beat. Links in comments.
