Correction: Haakim and Garvey are both 7th grade students in the School of Harvest community Montessori School in Ward 7. They are rising leaders in Parks & People and Junior Rangers in Marvin Gaye Park, where they help monitor and counter trash and other environmental issues in the stream valley.

Thank you to @cmfrumin.bsky.social and @cmchenderson.bsky.social for holding a roundtable on behavioral health support in local voucher programs, and to Councilmember Frumin for dogging this issue for months.

Last month I re-introduced legislation I first offered in 2019 to fund those and other services, such as skill-building, food, nutrition and other services to help promote resident stability and self-sufficiency. It now looks like we may be on that path. lims.dccouncil.gov/Legislation/...
