Centrist politically - equally frustrated by the far left & the far right

Love cinema & theatre - especially comedies The trouble with being a realist in the 2020s is that you can need a LOT of cheering up

I've no idea of what the legitimacy of that is. May be legit?

But would you expect Trump to do any different, either way?
December 12, 2025 at 5:23 AM
That is the nightmare scenario... and entirely possible...
December 11, 2025 at 11:12 PM
I take it you didn't read the article then...

The fishing boats are war crimes. No doubt. But this could actually be legit...

What we know about US seizure of oil tanker off Venezuela
The US seizure of a crude oil ship is the latest in a series of escalations in the Trump administration's pressure campaign on Venezuela.

Don't forget Russia. They are at least as guilty

And China are gearing up to be just as bad. They just don't have their military in shape quite yet
December 11, 2025 at 2:02 PM
While its usually fairly safe to assume Trump's motives as crooked (or just plain barmy), the administration may poss be onto something with this one?

The ship has history & was sanctioned under the Biden admin

+ The oil aboard wouldn't even pay for the operation underway let alone make a profit

I just said that

If it weren't so serious I'd add a laughing emoji
December 9, 2025 at 2:44 AM
Hardly surprising

As with the Ukraine "peace deal" they probably helped write it...
December 9, 2025 at 2:43 AM
Yep

They may as well email Putin any classified documents directly

Cut out the middle man
December 9, 2025 at 2:41 AM
As much as many of us disliked it, the state visit was a probably a good idea

*But* it was conducted waaaay too early & the leverage it gave us has been squandered
December 9, 2025 at 2:31 AM
I think you mean the National Security Strategy, but your point stands...
December 9, 2025 at 2:28 AM
That is a very real possibility (Who'd have thought that 10 - or even 2 years ago???)

But I suppose that would depend on how obvious the evidence is?

Putin must be laughing his head off...
December 8, 2025 at 12:39 AM
Yes, I saw a programme about (primarily) Musk & Theil a few weeks ago

Very dangerous individuals to let anywhere near democratic govt - if you want to keep it...
December 8, 2025 at 12:36 AM
Unfortunately so. Your today could very well be out tomorrow

Nigel Farage is a friend/useful idiot of Trump & supporter of Putin

He has a history of racism, especially against Jews & more recently Muslims

Much the same views as Trump on immigration... Same lies...

And could win the next election
December 7, 2025 at 11:30 PM
Plenty of evidence but I've been at this long enough to know when I'm wasting my time

Been there, done that, cupboard full of T-shirts...
December 7, 2025 at 11:23 PM
Will do!

And the very best of luck for 2026 & beyond 🤞
December 7, 2025 at 10:52 PM
Thanks for the suggestions but I'm not a US resident

Just an observer from a sympathetic ally - the UK

And we are extremely sympathetic to what you're going through over there

Yet bizarrely our version of Trump could be our next Prime Minister

It's a *very* strange world...
December 7, 2025 at 10:40 PM
Yep. It's called 40 yrs of banging my head against bricks walls held up by various fools & bad actors - Brexiteers, MAGA, Scots Nats, war crime deniers (Palestine, Ukraine & beyond), etc

In time you get to realise who are interested in real facts & those who aren't

And you're a long way off
December 7, 2025 at 10:36 PM
2/2 I don't know how familiar you are with Nigel Farage &:the Reform UK party?

But countering their fake news & attempts to undermine democracy here in the UK can keep you busy enough as it is

And the polls suggest they will form our next govt 🤯

Let me think about it a bit more... 👍

Best wishes!

I'm trying to steer away from American politics

While:

a) It's pretty much unavoidable given the present administration and

b) I really do sympathise

... we have enough problems of our own over here and very much risk going down the same road
