Since these models will be domain-specific variants of Amazon Nova, I'd say it doesn't meet that definition for "frontier." That's not to say these domain-specific models won't be very useful or valuable to create. Just parsing the marketing from the reality here. #AWSreinvent

The Frontier Model Forum, of which Amazon is a member, defines a “frontier AI model” as "a general-purpose model that outperforms, based on a range of conventional performance benchmarks or high-risk capability assessments, all other models that have been widely deployed for at least 12 months."
