Re 3rd place finishers, presumably this is all about points difference, a dodgy concept that has been absent in recent tournaments.
When key games are scheduled (Band 1/2), and approaches to resting players, could be a big passive factor for spots 13-16.

Sad news that Robin Smith has passed away at only 62.
Very fond memories of his aggressive batting against quick bowling in the early 90s, averaging 50+ for quite some time.
His square cut was violent, in a good way!
