All outdoor sites will be digital in time. Where DCC needs to focus on is not allowing these be permanent structures with planning permission but rather a licence subject to reviews after, say, 5 years. They also need to be careful on what other surveillance ad tech is added.

Jet fighters won’t either. Drones can. The investment should be in more maritime patrol planes, primary radar and ships. Tornadoes and mirages and more modern variants are inappropriate for our needs.

What is odd is that the want us to tool up like NATO in the Cold War. Any of that token hardware would be gone in seconds if there was a serious adversary. The reality is what is being used in Ukraine. Drones that could be bought in Smyths toys.
