Honestly, no. That would take deliberate malicious activity from the AI companies, and would be seen and noticed by the many competent programmers who do use AI.

More likely that it'll just accidentally produce something with subtle, exploitable bugs.

Quite. I'm an AI avoider; quite aside from having to put just as much effort and time into proof-reading its output, looking for security holes or checking that it hasn't inverted the intent of one of its sources, it's a monstrous consumer of energy. Using it would make me feel guilty.

As long as you keep your Python simple enough that you can still verify that it's great. Personally, I find it easier to write small scripts myself from scratch, which also saves a few kilos of carbon.
