Busman’s holiday: spent my day off doing a 3-hr ED pickup run for Caroline & a relative at HGH post-overnight stay. Traffic, Rx drop-off, Tims break, Rx pickup. Follow-up’s tomorrow. Not quite the break I had in mind!

The 2nd edition of Jon Peterson’s 'Playing at the World’ (2024) is in two volumes.

Vol 1 has an impressively extensive mention of Lee Gold and the APA she founded, 'Alarums & Excursions' in chapter #17 “Dungeons and Dragons and Los Angeles Fandom” , and in chapter #19 “Alarming Excursions”. #A&E

The cover of Alarums & Excursions #593 was heart- and gut-wrenching. After ~50 years, editor Lee Gold was ending the legendary RPG APA due to health. In its honour, I leave you one final archaic stage direction;

Exeunt Tableaux - they leave the stage, and the scene freezes, full of memory
