Early 2000s historical epics used to smack so hard even when they were “bad”. There’s such a fundamental level to movies like Troy and The Patriot due to the casting and sets and costuming that would be absolute donkey turds now.

They should remix/remaster Cattle Decapitation’s Monolith of Inhumanity. One of the best albums ever but Im afraid the production makes it so hard to come back to.

For all the yappery about how the terrible Game of Thrones finale was gonna completely wipe out its cultural footprint, it’s been completely the opposite. Still deeply beloved show, lot of dissemination thru memes and references, only fantasy franchise that’s produced a good spinoff in the 2020s.

Kinda fucked how this is gonna be the first end year retrospective where I can say I met a lot of long term goals; first full length album released, first book in print, first novel manuscript done and read by people.
And yet it feels like such a terrible no good year of struggle.
