This could have aided in cataloging, or comparing different film processing companies. Ingenious, and far more useful than the data backs of 50 years later. But maybe not necessary since the processor, Harry Durkes, was enterprising enough to include his info written on a blank strip of film.

Great capture! Found some on the Oregon coast recently. Single film shot with guessed exposure using a 70-year-old camera that I had with me.
