“The day we left our worries in Dallas.”

We also left the cast iron dutch oven cooling over the coals and Mama still asks about it.

Lavender Clouds.

A Stairway.

Though

still not sure where it goes.

New piece, made for #SelfPortraitSunday.

This one plays with #duality more than usual. See comments for details/alternate.

I tend to think buildings and manmade constructs when I think #angles but I love how the geometry of these young dancers in motion lines up.

#DoubleExposure in camera.

This used to be sprawling forest.

We razed giant oak, cedar, pine, redbud, dogwood… all in the name of development. First for the lake, then for housing, businesses, and recreation.

This is what deforestation looks like.

Beautiful, isn’t it?

Hi. 👋

I’m still new here. Came to make friends with artists and #HumansofBlueSky who are also disenfranchised with the current social media climate.

I’m a #photography based artist and commercial #photographer based in #Dallas.

Pleased to meet you.

I missed #BlueSkyArtShow because I am wrestling with “home” these days.

To me, #home is not the place where you live, but the place where you belong.

And lately, I feel like a stranger in my homeland.

Grappling with this all on #stunday

I call this series Space Between #Dreams.

Partly because they’re surreal dreamscapes and partly because I work on these pieces in the night battling insomnia. Sometimes I barely remember doing it so I get to see them with fresh eyes in the morning, which is neat.

Sometimes, all I need is a dose of #cloudporn and a reminder to #lookup to keep the crazies at bay.

It’s beautiful out there, this #BlueSkyMonday.

(Not from today, but wanted to share anyway.)

Hope your day is beautiful, too. 💙

On the road again, so here’s an old favorite for #stunday

Edwards Crossing is a magical place. Built in 1904, you can still cross these timber slats on foot today. The view over the South Yuba River is breathtaking and a little dizzying.

Another place that used to be someplace.

Stumbled across this little structure, burned out, melted glass running down rock, barely peeking out amongst the sunflowers.

Lost on some little highway between little nothing towns, somewhere (nowhere) in Texas.

Been struggling creatively lately. Perhaps because worldwide dumpster fire?

Beat my head against this piece. Went probably too hard on that window to the soul thing.

Anyway, still not distracted. Release the Epstein files.

With the world upside down right now, the fantasy of exiting society to live off grid in the middle of nowhere grows stronger by the day.

Stumbled upon this sign in Marfa, Texas a few weeks back. Makes my wanderlust soul happy.

“These are not anonymous acres in forgotten corners of the map…”

As a citizen, photographer, and tourist, these sacred spaces have helped define my life and shape who I am.

This is a quick read—poignant, succinct, articulate, and important.

Was fascinated by this window and the Giant Swallowtail frolicking in it.

Patiently tried to catch the shadow of the butterfly at play.

Alas, the decisive moment was as elusive as this tiny fluttering beauty.

The #skyline is breathtaking overlooking #Chattanooga today.

First time visiting Tennessee and just blown away the beauty.

Some called him Keyboard Bob, others Deep Ellum Bob. To me, he was just Bob.

A legend in our little neighborhood, he will be sorely missed.

Enjoy swapping dirty jokes with the angels and I will catch you on the flip side.

Once upon a time, this was someplace.

Probably a bookstore, by the look inside (pics in comments).

Redford, Texas

Now forgotten, abandoned, imploding, like much of the town.

Given time—and soon—nature will reclaim what was once built here.

Melting in this east Texas humidity tonight and staring at my little black mirror, can’t resist one more for #stunday

The #sunset over the Trinity River a few weeks ago, somewhere east of Corsicana.

It’s been a rainy year, so the river overflows and the forest is happy.

“Entire Block For Sale”

The city in #pieces to the highest bidder. Progress paves the path for gentrification.

I guess kinda like the road to hell? Good intentions and all that jazz.

Whatever happened to that project anyway?

I live at the edge of civilization, where the road meets the forest.

Nestled in the sprawling woodlands of east Texas, men have dammed a lake.

I watch as trees succumb to “progress.”

And refuse to surrender.

At least for now.
