Maker of beer and wine. Seeker of places unseen. Tolerant of all but the intolerant. Lover of cats and a world-famous dog greeter.
The dolphins who live in my front yard were active on the weekend.

There was an adult and two younger dolphins. They were chasing a school of fish in the river and just having fun.

The video was taken by my DIL, Hailian.

This is the one on the Australian government’s Smart Traveller website. It it might need up dating.

I went to Towitta Reserve last night which is part of the Murray River Dark Sky Reserve.

The straight lines are satellites photobombing the 25-second exposure. In the top of one of the photos you can see the Large Magellanic Cloud, 158,000 light years away.

Well here’s a new one. I had a red fox in the garden this morning.

Foxes are not native to Australia but were released by English settlers to hunt.

This one had no fear of me and at times looked like it was playing.

Tuxedo cats are the best, but I might be a little biased.

We get so many water birds in the river. This a flock of Australian Pelicans and Silver Gulls.

When the large salt lakes in the north of the state fill with water the pelicans migrate the five hundred and more kilometres.

It happens rarely and I don't know how they know there is water in the lakes

I’m going to post a few things to show everyone a little of who I am.

This is me passing a 54 metre long Road Train in my Sprinter Campervan.

The RT is going 100kmh and the speed limit is 110 for me.

So why pass? The road is so long and flat that you can see it disappear over the horizon.

Before and after of my feral cat. He still bites and scratches me but I can live with that.

No worries. I am very lucky that there are so many animals and bids here.

This Willie Wagtail is one of a pair who live in my garden and is not happy with the Greater Egret. I think they were nesting at the time.

A Willie Wagtail seeing off a Great Egret out the front of the house. The little wagtail is part of a pair that live in the garden. I think they were nesting hence the aggression.

This was taken from the balcony of my house. On the other side of the river is the marina, townhouses and apartments.

The house faces west so we regularly get beautiful sunsets.

As well as the dolphins, we also have Rakali that were nearly hunted to extinction in the 1930s because of their fur

Dolphins outside my house on the Port River, Adelaide.
I normally see them in pairs or by themselves so this was a treat.
The river has a resident pod but dolphins from the gulf often visit.
