Countless prosecutions hinge on the credibility of the arresting officer. Public safety demands the highest standards of truthfulness and accountability. Cameras protect everyone involved by creating an objective record and deterring misconduct or false allegations.

It's not of my choosing, but this is my last non-partisan election day. I'm excited for this exhausting limbo to end soon, but until then you get one last publicly neutral, "Go vote!"

Happy Halloween from four-year-old me.

Yeah, I always knew.

I wanted to be Wonder Woman — strong, kind, and brave enough to fight for truth, justice, and the American way.

Back then, I thought it was a costume.
But it’s who I am, and who I aspire to be.

Well… maybe with fewer stars on my shorts.

My last military crew was S5R; said properly, S5Arrgh! We were the pirates. We even planned a pirate-themed party this spring, and I had my costume ready to board ship. But before the revelry began, the government made me walk the plank. I didn't get to share another round of laughter with the crew.

For a nation that was assigned British at birth, we seem to have a strange problem with trans people.

In the executive order banning transgender service members, we were labeled undisciplined, dishonorable, liars.

There's a lot going on this weekend, but if one of your stops is Annapolis Pride, I'll be the parade grand marshal, will provide remarks around 11:20, and will sign books at the festival.

Whether celebrating Pride, our tradition of the rule of law, or anything, have a fantastic weekend ahead!

This is a short, practical guide. It’s serious in purpose, a little lighthearted in delivery, and built for the long haul.

Speak out, get involved... get a cat? Is it really that easy? This is one of my longer pieces, but I hope you'll give it a read.

It is important today to acknowledge and thank federal workers for their service.

If they are forced out, it is not only they who will suffer. Far more of us than we can imagine will end up in trauma; we just do not know when it will strike.

If I had a dollar to wager on today’s Quantico spectacle, I’d put it on theater over substance. But the house always wins in times of chaos. Instead of betting, let's restore the rules of the game, reshuffle power back to the people, and ensure democracy, not a rigged table, decides our future.

Yep. It’s about how queer leaders are forged in fire—developing not just skills but a mindset that leadership is for all of us. And while it centers queer leadership, the lessons are for everyone.

Print, e-book, audio—and yes, signed copies & talks available.
