Whilst nursing a beer at one particular stall, he was suddenly surrounded by a rowdy group of young men. Viera, Highlander, Elezen- familiar kinds of fellows if it weren't for their particularly loud hair colors and flashy, plasticine outfits. Though he was on guard at first, it wasn't hard for them to stoke his ego as 'admirers' of his. His run and abrupt disappearance, to the general public's awareness, would just become another odd, dark enigma adding to the entertainment district's mystique. His head turned ever so slightly as splashing crossed his vision, a large, humanoid shadow steadily passing over the masses of kelp he lurked within. Distantly, he recalled the silhouette as a shorewalking Roegadyn- one of the interlopers that had sullied the coastlines of Vylbrand with their ships and terrestrial buildings. He was large and robustly built- muscular frame peppered with scars and markings like an old, battered shark. The warm tone of his brown skin contrasted with the bluish hues of the sea- the white hair of his braid, beard and mustache glistening as they caught the sunlight. On land the man would’ve proven a troublesome opponent- but under the waves… The merman’s jaw stretched wide below his absent gaze, gills flaring as his muscles began to tense. A coordinated sweep of his fins and flippers surged his sleek frame upwards- his smooth scales letting him pass frictionlessly through the water, undetectable until he slammed precisely into his prey’s underside. Panicked splashing. No time to scream or yell. The old Roegadyn was dragged down with practiced ease- trailing rivulets of blood the only lingering presence on the surface, following his path downwards to where the beast’s claws had seized his torso. Bubbles violently escaped the man’s mouth as the breath was squeezed out of him- his powerful arms and bare feet thrashing in desperate panic, unable to land any blows or prevent him from sinking further and further down with his captor. The creature’s slick, cold hands grasped at the warmth of the man’s torso- feeling the panicked beating of his heart, the texture of his chest hair, the firm nub of his right nipple. Something else stirred, and clutched his prey even more possessively- perhaps the shorewalker would sate more than one hunger in the dark shadows beneath the kelp.

Brazen ventures into the Thirteenth alone, but doesn't return.
Troia Castle’s main hall carried an unusually festive air- the cracked and peeling walls draped with rent silks and dead flowers, the remnants of the grand dining table dragged back to its former place for the first time in a century. It was a special day indeed- given the nature of the Thirteenth, such a boon was rare- for any aether at all had become hard to acquire. Centuries of conflict between roaming voidsent had concentrated the precious resource into the claws of only the strongest- who had taken to hoarding it within their fortress-like domains. The adventurer had been a distinguished looking, burly, elder Roegadyn man- perhaps of noble bearing- definitely with the sort of high ranking military arrogance that the Archfiend had despised in his mortal life. He had had finely braided silver hair, a waxed mustache, a nautical eyepatch – his frame draped with a long flowing coat set off by heeled boots, with a skillfully wielded, finely crafted rapier to match. Even for a being from the source, his soul seemed unusually dense. The would-be hero had fought well, but without a Memoriate’s ability to seal a voidsent’s essence- it was only a matter of time before he fell. The beast had debased his prey slowly- taking his time savoring the man’s defiance and indignity- groping him and wearing him down, spending hour upon hour instilling despair in him- cold fingers and tongue violating him, claws pulling his fine garments to shreds. Cries of anger and protest became anguished screams and pleading after hours turned into days… As exhaustion wore down his resolve he even began to moan. It was impressive how the Roegadyn’s frame held up, even as the vile creature violently rutted in him for hours on end. He didn’t last forever of course- though the Archfiend’s restraint and patience had allowed him the satisfaction of lengthy, inflicted suffering… And one last novelty. He licked his lips as he surveyed the lidded platter in the center of the table. He lifted the lid free with his yellowed claws. “And after such fine, unexpected entertainments… How kind of you to join me for dinner, Mister Elk…”
