Metroid Prime is one of my favorites and I’ve played through it half a dozen times. Don’t think of it as an action pact FPS. It’s a game meant to take in the scenery, explore the environmental story telling, get lost in the world and enjoy what’s before you.

It’s worth the time to play for sure.

I’d pick one game and dive right in.

If you want pure gaming joy, take Mario Odyssey.

If you’re in the mood for a sword play fantasy, pick up Breath of the Wild (then Tears of the Kingdom. Or Zelda Links awakening.

For a space shooting adventure. snag Metroid Prime Remastered.

All amazing!

I just got there yesterday!

I love the vibe! Seeing both the power amor and the warrior within.

This is unbeatable like ET on Atari.

This trailer started my love for the Metroid series. I remember setting my computer desktop picture to many different Metroid related photos. I couldn’t get enough of this Space power fantasy of Metroid.

Needless to say, she was my main in Smash Bros from there.

Metroid Prime 4 for me as well! It’s been 17 long years since MP3.

I know a lot of people are assuming it’s going to be on Switch 2… I just hope we’re not wrong!

I can’t wait to see what they team up with next! Halo? Gears? The next Banjo installment?
January 25, 2025 at 3:39 AM
I’m torn! On the one hand I want it as soon as possible. On the other hand I want it to look as best as possible.

I do hope Metroid prime 4 launches with Switch 2 with a native switch 2 build.

Retro Studios makes absolutely gorgeous games, and having a device 5x powerful would be a dream to see.

I was thinking the same thing.

Either there’s a lack of interest with the new platform or NDAs forbid discussing Switch 2 projects.

Here’s hoping the direct in April shows off what it can do.

Trumps for sale

A huge bullet point is “Here’s Switch 2, it has over 4,900 titles playable at launch”. Love your point about software sales wouldn’t slow during the end of life stage of the old hardware.

That will be the selling feature of smash 6
January 19, 2025 at 1:40 AM
I hope they do a dual release like they did with Zelda Twilight Princess for GCN and Wii, and BOTW for WiiU and Switch.

I’m beyond impressed with how Prime Remaster looks and plays on the OG switch. What could Retro do with a system that’s what 3x? 6x? More powerful?
January 19, 2025 at 12:45 AM
Doesn’t mean they can’t Make another $60 version that plays even better on switch 2 🤷‍♂️
January 19, 2025 at 12:40 AM
I’m sure within the launch year we’ll get some Switch 2 version of Smash Ultimate.

Smash 6 I’m guessing mid year 2, if not early year 3.

How do you out do Smash Ultimate?

Backwards compatibility makes the transition to new hardware and upgrade versus a monolithic migration.

Could you imagine if you had to lose all you phone apps evertime you got a new phone? It’s what people expect, and the software should just work.

100% agree Paris! Nintendo follow up plan to the second best selling gaming hardware of all time is to make that experience better. Isn’t that what the other guys are doing?

Let’s not forget, all we’ve officially seen is a 2 minute trailer of the physical hardware. Software can innovate hardware.

Hear me out…. They’ll round the corners to match the new. Ha
