A guy who plays way too much Pokémon and Nintendo and really likes birds, for some reason...

Keep flying high!
We need some realistic guarantee that games will remain downloadable for decades to come and that people can play, study, research, and learn from them for years to come. We want to share these games with our kids. So on, so on.

Like even if I'd rather have the physical cartridge for collection and because of my emotional connection to the IPs, I don't hate digital games. It's just a matter that they're more easily revokable and can't be easily preserved or accessed by new players/historians on consoles without hacking.

$25 per vinyl also seems like an okay value considering these are collector's pieces.

It might just be 8 GB actually. Switch 1 game is 4 GB, and then the Switch 2 Edition is 8 GB, so that 8GB may include the Switch game + the upgrade pack.

Z-A Switch 2 Edition was like 12-ish GB iirc (includes both copies of the game), so it's probably not that alone that was the determining factor.

Retailers also sometimes do their own sales

Well they're working on Champions, so there's that.

This was before System 21.0.0 dropped fyi

I had a crash upon first boot of BDSP on my Switch 2 tbh, so this may have just been an issue that got worse with the new system firmware patch.

If we want to be technical, this game was developed by a Koei Tecmo team and not an entity of TPC, but still, it's published by Nintendo and TPC!

This gen was never not going to be a $70 standard imo, but there was only 1 other original Switch game that reached $70 and it was two games in one. So it was a technical truth but might as well have been a half-truth.

I wasn't interested in this game anyway tbh (and if it was I'd just get digital atp). Just sucks we now have 1st party key cards on the table. A huge L for preservation given the lack of backup options on Switch 2.

Hoping this isn't a sign of things to come and is an anomaly.

Understandable

You know, in an odd way, I kind of like how the different cart icons give a bit more identity to the home screen.

Switch 2 console mods don't exist yet. Likely was edited in post.

I can see maybe some retailers having their own sales on it.
