Nor can you really do that with its internal mechanics, which I think the pilot also does a poor job explaining.

You just can't take something like Homestuck, which is like 80% inter-character banter, and condense it into 11 minutes.

I didn't hate the pilot, but it tried to do way too much in too little time, and removed a lot of the bits from those points in the story that made it entertaining.

And gave the Soul Sanctum carte blanche to experiment on people and rip the life force out of their bodies. There's no shortage of awful thinks PK did or allowed for and being less of a colonizer than GMS doesn’t redeem him in the slightest.

It's really weird that GMS's actions have led a lot of people to flip their opinions and say the Pale King did nothing wrong. Like yeah he was way more benevolent as a ruler but he also killed so many of his own children that their bodies form a geologic stratum under his kingdom.

Yeah I don't think the Hive is anyone's favorite area. The visuals and lore are interesting, but even after Hive Knight was added in the Lifeblood Update it was pretty empty.
