This week I: let go of my non-running 2002 Buell Blast (3rd pic) that I owned and rode for probably 12-13 years and bought a deeply discounted leftover 2024 Honda CB300R (1st two pics). I'm hoping this will be the last motorcycle I ever buy, and I can't wait to get back into riding again.

Up next for fixin' is this Sanyo turntable from 1979. It isn't anything special, but would be a fine starter/beginner turntable for someone looking to get into the hobby, and thus worth saving. It's leagues above something like a Crosley suitcase turntable.

This isn't going to do it justice, but it sounds incredible. Granted, The Nightfly is widely regarded as one of the best sounding albums.

Just finished this turntable restoration for a friend. It's a 50 year old Pioneer PL-12D. I'm pretty happy with the results. There's still a few minor scuffs inside the dust cover, but she's not going to care about that, and the outside of the dust cover is almost mint now.

Decorated Christmas cookies last night with my family. I am pretty sure my sister doesn't cut an angel for me because of the angels I make. (There's two batches of cookies: one vegan for me and one non-vegan. She makes the cookies in advance)

So I looked into it and yeah the info out there is scant, but what I found made me want to find out more. WTF is the ZZ-Top connection? Did one of them own it??

And I'm doing ok! I was released from the hospital yesterday and am recuperating at my parents house by the shore, which is a beautiful spot. Even just their backyard is a splendor.

Here we go. I have the industrial Velcro on several spots on the helmet, so I can put the lights where I want. I typically use two at a time. And a second pic of me and my actual face and wow that helmet makes me look like I have a tiny head. The balaclava doesn't help. 😹

Love that color! Mine was originally Limeflower, currently some unknown red (not my choosing) and eventually I'd like to get it back to Limeflower again.
